Summer is coming to an end, and what a summer it was! Magical moments, massive parties – this season Guaba was another success, thanks to you all! Once again you proved to be the best crowd in the world, and you turned Guaba into a place out of this world, with all your support and positive energy!
Adults of all ages, you were all here this summer, enjoying the magic, escaping from your routines. Here, at Guaba, you danced, you laughed, you cried, you fell in love, you shared problems, dreams, secrets… This was your home for the summer, a place of warmth where you could gather and enjoy together the best memories
From the moment of our massive opening until now, you have been crucial in ensuring that this season was one that truly rocked! What amazing energy you Guaba fans had, what great, positive reactions to all our events - you were so appreciative of all our hard work as we strive to keep this family happy and proud. Thank you!
Our Sunday parties have become so famous internationally that we have attracted fans from across the world and it is our challenge to try to always serve up something fresh and new, no matter how many parties we throw. We took you to new heights this year as you soared in, your energy flying into our home and infecting us all! It was brilliant!
Reggae Mondays have become a regular thing, the talk of the town, and an excellent wind-down, relaxing night, following our massive Sunday parties. Guaba Thursdays – upon your request - have become the next big party event after our Sundays. And Saturday beach parties proved to be not just fun, but a great opportunity for young promoters and event teams to promote their music and parties. The magic did not stop there… as we had magic shows on Wednesdays too!
No matter what day you visited us, you were sure to enjoy some new and exciting aspect of our Guaba world. Day times on the beach were the perfect chance to sample our signature cocktails and relax on our chilling loungers, to take a swim in the lovely beach in front of our bar and mellow with your friends. From the cool weekday atmosphere to the hot, hot Sunday parties, Guaba made sure, as always, that there was something for everyone, at all times. We even kept up our free yoga classes this summer, and I was so happy to see so many familiar and new faces in the classes each Tuesday. This is something we will definitely continue next season, and we will add even more activities for you… there are many surprises in store.
Unfortunately, 2011 was not without its share of drama. The police were back with a mission to remove our speakers and try to close down one of our Sunday parties. Once again, politicians and people in high places were back on the map, trying to knock us down and destroy everything we have built so far. As we try to do good for our country, we keep facing obstacles and powerful people trying to stop us. But we believe in higher powers to keep us alive. We have spirit and support which extends beyond politics and money, and we know that no-one can get rid of something as positive as Guaba. Our efforts and effects are known worldwide, as far as Thailand and other exotic countries, and we are disappointed that we are appreciated in the far corners of the world while on home turf, our own leaders do not appreciate us. Some of the countries abroad have even asked us to move our famous bar and name over there, but we are born in this country, and this is our home. We are not going anywhere. Our message to those trying to shut us down: "Don’t push us to move and leave this unfinished. We are Cypriot, and we belong here.” Personally, I hope to see, one day, new and young faces, independent from political stigma, in parliament, sitting together forming a team which will finally do something good for this country. With everything our island has been through this summer, people are already starting to realize that we need change for the better. It is clear that we need new talent to lead us now, that we need people in politics who actually represent us, the people, and who understand what we need and want, rather than turning a blind eye until it is too late. Let our success at Guaba be the template for our future leaders and let the tragedy of our recent past be an incentive for us to keep Guaba alive and growing, and to keep hope alive!
Which is why we promise you this: next year Guaba will be back, and will take things to a whole new level, with lots more ideas and an abundance of fresh, positive energy. But the summer isn’t over yet. We still have our Guaba closing fiesta on September 25th, and we are already set up and waiting for you to join us as we bring to a close another fantastic Guaba season!

Another year is coming to an end. 2010 was a very special year – a lot happened in the world of Guaba, and we hoped you enjoyed it. With hard work, love and devotion, we managed to spread our wings and let Guaba soar, spreading the word about our Guaba family even further into the expanses of the universe. We now have fans from near and far, all over the world… and it keeps growing!
Our promise to you: we will continue to work with passion, and always with the intention of producing quality results. Guaba is not just our way of life…it is our life. You are our family and we believe in keeping our relatives close to us and supporting them in any way we can. The entire team at Guaba is working hard to ensure that next year will be just as great and better as this one was,and that you will continue to be served with enthusiasm and excellence. Guaba Summer 2011 promises to be a new experience for everyone, but guarantees the same kind of fun times you always experience with us!
I extend my best wishes to you all for the New Year. I know times are difficult and career opportunities are not easy to find in Cyprus… but I hope that 2011 will be the year for you to make things happen. Away with negativity and excuses! See things the Guabian way: Cyprus has and always will have opportunities.
I would like to encourage you, the young generation (you people are the future of this island!) to stay motivated and work hard. Adopt the Guaba Outlook on Life. Each and every one of you has a special power inside and I urge you to search for it and persevere to achieve your goals… one after the other!
Not meaning to preach (or sound like anyone’s parents!), I must emphasize however, how much I believe that one of the main problems of our youth today is their use of illegal substances. Guabians, be aware: such habits harm your heart, killing you for the inside out, destroying that special power within. I cannot stress enough how such illegal substances weaken the body and mind.
Instead, why not choose to learn how to live a healthy, happy and active life?
You will have the chance to do this with us, next summer, as we are planning to introduce Yoga at Guaba. With a free lesson offered once per week, I highly recommend you try it out… it may just be the kick start you need to make that change for the better and strengthen your body and mind. Perhaps Yoga at Guaba will open new doors for you as it has done, and keeps doing, for me.
In the meantime, don’t wait. Take this opportunity to make a New Year’s resolution to do what it takes to make 2011 a better year for yourself and those you care about. We here at Guaba wish you the very best for the holiday season, and I send you all my positive vibes for a very Happy New Year!

It is also with great pleasure that Guaba continues to find ways to help Cyprus, by drawing in holidays makers to the island, who visit to experience the unique taste of the Guaba world.
Towards the end of what was a great summer, we put together a concert for all our fans, one of the biggest events that Guaba has ever organized.
Although there were challenging moments (a U.S. DJ cancelled on us last minute, but our swift solution to this problem by calling a friend in London ensured we had another, even better, DJ booked to appear), this turned out to be the best event of the year. Ashley Wallbridge rocked the place, spinning his records away and taking the positive energy of the dancing Guabians to the next level. Everything, as you can see, happens for a reason.
Our crazy Sundays continued to be even crazier, and our Reggae nights every Monday were a big success and a nice change of scene. Guaba days and nights this season offered a place where positive, like-minded people could chill out and relax in a funky atmosphere. Whether you chose to melt into one of our comfortable loungers right on the sand, or in any of the other cosy areas of our multi-level bar, you could sip away at your favourite drink while enjoying a nargile, surrounded by twinkling candlelight. In a town that is filled with summer beach bars, there still is still no place like Guaba – so if you haven’t already, come and check it out next year!
Once again, we avoided charging any entry fee, nor did we increase our prices, despite the crisis affecting all businesses worldwide. In fact, we were able to increase the size of our Guaba family and draw in new customers from across the island and beyond. We hope to keep doing this next year and we can’t wait to see you and your friends again next summer.
Until then, a big thank you goes out to everyone who participated in making this year the very best so far. Have a wonderful winter, rest up and save all your energy for our opening in the spring, because there will be lots of surprises, new additions and events lined up for you.

Forget parking your expensive cars in front of our bar. Bring your bicycle instead! Expensive cars, like overpriced houses, are only a way to show off. At Guaba you can enjoy your beers and cocktails in plastic (recyclable?) glasses. We care about the environment... and about you.
Forget the crystal glasses and champagne. Indulge in the simplicity of life. Like the sea in front of us, we at Guaba like to keep things clear and positive. We like to work hard and study hard. We say no to drugs. We exercise every day. You can do the same. Change your life. Join the Guaba culture.
Everybody here is equal. Everybody is the same. No matter what your personal style, no matter what your status, nobody is better or worse than the other. We believe the only valuable thing you have is your mind, so try to use it in a positive way. There is no time, nor any point in complaining about everything. Life is too short, so make the most of it. This is an important message for our young generation.
And it’s true that Guaba is for the young... but also the young at mind. It is not someone’s age, nor what they own, which should earn them respect. It is not what they drive nor what they wear. Beauty is from within. These are lessons that many of us still have to learn. And not just young people. The wisest person is one who knows that you are never too old to learn, and that you can never know everything, no matter what your age. So come to Guaba and meet others who have youthful energy and a positive outlook on life. Come and share, come and learn from each other. Come and grow here amongst friends. At Guaba we do not grow old - we grow young!
You are the future of this island. Be a true Guabian, and make a difference to the society of tomorrow. Those of you who can already proudly call themselves Guabians - those of you who show their support every day (you know who you are) you have my deepest respect and love.
I hear from people all the time who tell me they met their true love at Guaba.
I hear stories everyday from all kinds of people who share with me how Guaba has changed their lives. This is our goal. To play a positive role in your lives. To help you make changes for the better, to help you see things from a different point of view. Guaba is here and we will do whatever we can to help as many young people possible achieve their goals and become the best people they can be.
To keep doing this we need your support daily.
Remember: we are not a "church” which you would visit only on a Sunday. On Sunday, even my grandmother makes it down here! We want your positive energy every day, so visit us anytime. Drop by weekdays, weeknights, and host your next party or event here. We have been offering free parties at our premises for several years now, and have already been voted within the best 50th clubs worldwide! Join us to see what we are all about. That’s the spirit!
